Over the the Christmas break, my family went on a very fun trip to Texas to go exploring and to visit one of my Aunts. One of the most exciting stops was the NASA Space Center in Houston. A few years ago, my robotics team competed in the Google Lunar XPrize Moonbots competition and I did a lot of research about NASA and the space program. I definitely knew that I wanted to visit “Main Control” in Houston, so I was really excited about our visit. I was definitely not disappointed! It was an amazing experience! I got to explore a space shuttle, see a mock-up of the International Space Station and learn about our space program. I also learned how robotics is used in space. The International Space Station has the most advanced robotics ever used in space. Robotics is used both inside and outside the complex. Two robotic arms are used on the outside and on the inside the crew is testing a human-like robotic helper. I definitely recommend a visit! I also recommend that you explore their website. There is a ton of really useful information. Here is the website: http://spacecenter.org/education-programs/
