Our visit to Macy McClaugherty School started off with a minor glitch…our presentation completely vanished! But other than having to completely “wing it,” everything went as planned! Actually this presentation was probably our best one because we had more time for the students to control the robot and ask questions. Without a doubt, that is the most exciting part of our presentation.
I’m always amazed by the questions. We answered questions for over 45 minutes! The students really want to learn how the robots work. Some of the questions can get really technical. Every presentation so far has had multiple questions about speed and torque trade-off for our gearing. They also want to learn more about the competition rules and how we developed our design to maximize our score. Here’s a couple of quick clip that sort of covers these questions.
They also ask about THIS year’s VEQ IQ Challenge. Below is a link to a video explaining the objectives for this year’s VEX IQ game. This year’s game seems really hard, but so did last year’s until we started working on it.

Chandler and I want to thank Dr Arbogast, all of the School Board members, the school teachers and staff and, most importantly, the students for such a great day! THANK YOU!
